Fires Burning Across NE NSW

As predicted the fires are really taking off right now. North westerly winds are strengthening, and temperatures are climbing quickly. Here’s the current graph:

You can see the temperature climbing but, just as crucially, humidty levels falling off a cliff. The Bellingen Weather Station currently shows a humidity level of 0%:

And local fires are roaring. This is likely to intensify through this afternoon. Here’s the current warnings for our region:

Conditions likely to ease a little tomorrow but there is no rain forecast and temperatures will be climbing quickly again early next week. Needless to say we need to keep all fire out of our valleys at this time, and if you do spot a smoke column call 000 immediately – don’t assume someone else has done so. I look forwad to sharing posts about rain at some point in the near future.
